Since 2006, Classically Alive has brought world-class music to the Pikes Peak region, presenting more than 150 concerts and over 100 musicians in intimate house settings and beyond. Founded by Dr. Abe Minzer, the series became known for its eclectic offerings — from classical masterworks to jazz, world, and contemporary sounds — all paired with food, drink, and a warm spirit of community.
Today, that torch is carried forward by pianist and educator Josh Janitell and the Harmonic Garden team. Our venue in Manitou Springs continues the tradition of intimate salon-style evenings, while we also bring concerts to unique spaces throughout the region — expanding the reach of Classically Alive into new neighborhoods and audiences. Whether you’re attending a piano masterwork, a crossover jazz program, or an experimental Sound Lab event, every concert remains true to the vision: great music, up close, shared with friends.Classically Alive features diverse monthly house concerts, which include food, drink, and time for guests to socialize, and mingle with the musicians. At the venue, founder, director, and pianist, Dr. Abe Minzer performs along with many top musicians of the Pikes Peak region. Additionally, Classically Alive hosts world-class visiting artists of national and international reputation, often as part of the Piano Masterworks series and through collaboration with the German arts organization, Weltklassik.
Since its inception in 2006, Classically Alive has presented over 150 concerts featuring over 100 musicians. The eclectic offerings include a wide range of classical, as well as contemporary, popular styles, jazz, and world music.
